Speakers’ Profiles:
Mr Wee Boon Siong, Founder & CEO (Aeterni.eco)
Boon Siong has over 25 years of experience in various industries including government, financial services, info-command sustainability, and holding different responsibilities from research to user operations and vendor service providers. He joined the sustainability movement since 2017 as he felt that it was important so that everyone could co-exist in this ever-shrinking world.
He is currently the CEO of Aeterni.eco, a green consulting company specialising in sustainability strategy including reporting, carbon footprint for corporates, products and services and green finance. Aeterni.eco also provides training for corporates and public in these areas. He has been involved in various projects for entities like MAS, SGX, DBS, UOB, ICICI, PSA, SingPost, Philips, and Sentosa etc.
Boon Siong read Mathematics at Cambridge University and graduated with triple first class. He also holds a Diploma in Actuarial Science from the Institute of Actuaries and completed the Executive Development Programme at INSEAD.
Ms Ngiam Shing Shian, Senior Consultant (Aeterni.eco)
Shing Shian is an award-winning communications professional with more than 15 years of experience in strategic and integrated communications spanning both the public and private sectors. In 2023, Shing Shian was on the jury for Marketing Interactive’s PR Awards.
Her dream is to foster sustainable, nature-inspired and technologically-advanced built environments. Over the last 9 years, in her regional communications role at Johnson Controls, she articulated the company’s robust ESG commitments, both internally and externally. Most recently, she collaborated with a group of experts to create a television series on gardening and sustainability, with the aim of enabling and inspiring better environmental stewardship. She was also one of the judges for Sustainability Innovation Challenge 2023, organised by JA Singapore.
She has sustainability certifications in Global Reporting Initiative, carbon accounting, sustainable real estate and permaculture design; in addition to Bachelor and Master of Engineering from Cambridge University, as well as a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the National University of Singapore.
This unique blend of technical expertise, sustainability knowledge and extensive industry experience enables her to problem-solve creatively.
Mr Jason Tee, Manager, Business Advisory (SME Centre@SICCI)
Jason began his entrepreneurship journey when he first set up a car washing business at age 26. It was eventually sold at a profit after 2 years into the business. During the period, he also helps to run his family business in the construction industry. He is very active in promoting entrepreneurship and financial education to the next generation.
