Speakers’ Profiles:

Mr Eric Khoo, Head, Business Development (IPOS International)

Eric heads the Business Development department at IPOS International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. Eric oversees the expansion of IPOS International into key local and global markets, providing advisory and solutions to private enterprises and governments on intellectual property (IP) creation, commercialisation and management.

Prior to IPOS International, Eric led the IP and Science Solution Consulting team at Clarivate Analytics, advising clients on their IP challenges in R&D innovation and commercialisation. He also represented the media conglomerate in high-level industry conferences and exhibitions and engaged key opinion leaders in research discovery and IP-related sectors. In his time with Hewlett Packard, Eric handled IP portfolio management and technology licensing, with a focus on strategic analyses of major technology companies to identify cross-licensing opportunities, uncover patent acquisition targets and convert IP assets for sale.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from the National University of Singapore. He is also a qualified Project Management professional and a certified WSQ ACLP trainer.

Mr Lok Choon Hong, Director (Pintas IP House Pte Ltd)

Mr Lok Choon Hong is a qualified lawyer (non-practising) for Singapore and Malaysia and a registered patent, trademark and industrial design agent for Malaysia. He has been actively involved in the intellectual property (IP) field for the past 20 years. He was awarded the world’s top 1,000 patent practitioners by IAM magazine for year 2013 to 2023 and IPStar Award by Managing IP Magazine for year 2019 to 2022. He was awarded as one of the world top 300 IP strategists under the Strategy 300 by IAM magazine.

Mr Lok holds a Master of Laws Degree from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, an executive MBA degree from INSEAD, France/Singapore and E-MBA from Tsinghua University, China.

Mr Lok is the managing partner of Pintas IP Group (PIPG), a regional professional IP firm with operational offices based in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. PIPG provides integrated IP filing and consultancy works covering Southeast Asia countries. He is also the founding partner of Global IP Southeast Asia Pte Ltd (GIP-Asean), an IP agency and consultancy boutique firm focusing on Japan-Southeast Asia regions.

Apart from IP agency and consultancy works, Mr Lok is also actively involved in business angel investment in IP-based companies in ASEAN and China.

Genuine, passionate and resourceful consulting professional, Momo has over 7 years of combined experience in direct sales, consultancy, training and business directorship. Momo has helped many SMEs explore digital content conceptualisation and brand re-alignment apart from digital transformation.

More importantly, he is hyper-focused on fact-finding to uncover underlying pain points of businesses that hinder productivity. Regardless of the business stage, he is able to provide comprehensive assessments through the use of proven methodologies; one of such examples is the Business Model Canvass (BMC).
