Heng Koon How, CAIA

Koon How is the Head of Markets Strategy in the Global Economics and Markets Research Team at UOB, where he formulates forecasts and market views for foreign exchange (FX), commodities and interest rates.

In addition to traditional FICC related research, Koon How has also focused increasingly on research and updates in the fast evolving digital assets space, including cryptocurrencies, various tokens as well as central bank digital currencies.

He has more than 25 years of financial markets experience across the key asset classes. Fluent in English and Mandarin, Koon How actively participates in various investment seminars across the Asia Pacific region and is a regular commentator in key local and international print and broadcast media.

Prior to joining UOB in 2017, Koon How was a senior FX strategist at a Swiss private bank covering the Asia Pacific region. He also worked in various global financial institutions in areas such as FX options sales, derivatives advisory and commodities structuring.

Koon How graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Chemical Engineering. In 2009, he was awarded the Financial Sector Development Fund postgraduate scholarship from the Monetary Authority of Singapore to attend the Yale-Singapore Management University Masters of Science in Wealth Management programme. Koon How is also a certified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. In 2020, Koon How attended the Cryptocurrency on-line course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and in 2021, Koon How completed the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

Samuel Tan is Vice-President for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Solutions at United Overseas Bank (UOB), where he partners coverage, product and industry teams to build ESG capabilities, drive insights, and structure credible sustainable financing solutions.

Prior, Samuel spent six years in management consulting at Ernst & Young’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services, advising clients on sustainability and decarbonisation strategies, impact and outcomes measurement, sustainability reporting, and more.

He was also lead auditor of various sustainability assurance engagements and provided greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions verification for clients’ carbon tax liabilities. Samuel co-developed and facilitated sustainability training for learners at all levels – from working teams to Board Directors.

These include internal capability-building workshops and external programmes such as the SEAS GHG Management Specialist Programme and SMU-GCNS Advanced Certificate in Sustainable Business. Samuel also guest-lectured at NUS, where he was recently conferred the Master of Science (Environmental Management), and presently serves on an Advisory Committee at ISCA.

Anthony Poh

Anthony has 10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and FinTech space. He is well-equipped with strong skills in communications, strategy, influencing and stakeholder management as well as having an analytical and logical mindset.

Currently in product management, Anthony is responsible for developing product roadmaps and growing the product through various stages of its lifecycle with his keen understanding of the market situation and needs. He has a demonstrated track record of identifying market problems, product roll-out and continuous improvement of product features.
